The Department of Radio-diagnosis and Imaging started in the year 2000.

The department imparts training to the post-graduates, interns, and undergraduates, Ph. D. student in Radiology, nursing students, physiotherapy students and dental students affiliated to the university.

  • Interventional Neuro Radiology Fellowship in the year 2020
  • Interventional Radiology Fellowship in the year 2019
  • Cross sectional Imaging Fellowship in the year 2020
  • Diagnostic Neuroradiology Fellowship in the year 2020
  • Women's Imaging Fellowship in the year 2020
  • 3 years Degree Course B.Sc in Medical Radiology and Imaging Technology with intake capacity of 20 from the year August 2022
  • 2 years Degree Course M.Sc in Medical Radiology and Imaging Technology with intake capacity of 10 from the year 2023
  • The number of MD (Radio-diagnosis) seats has increased from 14 to 16 in 2019.

Vision

The Department of Radio diagnosis and Imaging at Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College envisages to employ contemporary diagnostic and interventional radiology techniques and practices and reach the national health Goal of ‘Health for all by 2020’. The Department also pledges itself to be an integral part of the implementation of all the National Health Policies and Programmes with special emphasis on ‘Save the Girl Child’ movement.

Mission

The Department imparts up-to-date theoretical and practical knowledge, skills to undergraduate and postgraduate students of all disciplines, in-house technicians, undergraduate and postgraduate students of medical and other para-medical branches. It aims at insuring timely, rational and affordable modem healthcare at primary to tertiary levels to the public in need.
